Once players have completed the main campaign for Borderlands 4, they will begin their journey to reaching Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode, which makes enemies stronger but also provides them with a greater chance of loot. It’s a high-risk and high-reward playstyle that can be changed at any moment from the pause menu for players not interested in making things harder, but it’s also an important aspect of Borderlands 4‘s endgame content. For players who want to unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode 2 (UVHM2), we’ve got you covered. Below, you can find every challenge requirement to unlock UVHM 2 in Borderlands 4, along with where to find them and how to easily complete them.
The following challenges require you to be in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode 1. To ensure that you are in UVH Rank 1, select the Options button and select “Session Settings”, then hover over the “Ultimate Vault Hunter Level” tab and select UVH Rank 1. These challenges will not be completed if you’re not in UVH Rank 1.
How to Complete Song's Over in Borderlands 4
Bramblesong Location & How to Beat Him
Song’s Over requires players to kill Bramblesong in UVH 1. Bramblesong can be found in Bittervein, the Abandoned Auger Mine found within Stoneblood Forest, Terminus Range. This Abandoned Auger Mine is in the far north region of the Stoneblood Forest. We’ve attached a video below to make navigating through the Bittervein Auger Mine easier so you can find Bramblesong!
At the north wall of the mountain, you’ll enter the Auger Mine. Follow the linear path and destroy the crate that blocks the hole in the wall. Follow through and locate the ladder on the right side of the open cave. Now, jump on the metal crate and then double jump to glide north to get past the gap. From here, you can find a hole in the wall at the north-east corner, which you can crouch walk into. When you’re able to stand again, look up to see some scaffolding that can be grappled onto, and continue following the northern path. You’ll enter an open cave with no ground, so look to the crate on the right that you can pull to make a platform, then repeat this process to the next crate. The final crate is on your left, and then you can safely make your way through the cave system to the Vending Machines before Bramblesong.
Bramblesong is a giant Kratch enemy with 2 Flesh health bars (red). This means that Bramblesong is weak against Incendiary weapons. Bramblesong will always fly around, so try to avoid melee builds and shotgun builds, and instead use something with more range. Heavy Weapon Ordnance easily tears through Bramblesong. Once the winged beast is dead, the Song’s Over challenge will be complete.
How to Complete Omega 86'd in Borderlands 4
Bio Armored Omega Thresher Location & How to Beat Him
Players can only find the Bio Armored Omega Thresher after they have completed the “One Slimey Issue” Side Mission. To obtain this Side Mission, players must venture to the Lakeside Properties within the Fades District of Dominion and speak to Beth. This NPC will provide players with the “One Gassy Issue” Side Mission. After completing this Side Mission, head back to Beth to start “One Slimey Issue”, which requires you to access Beth’s basement via a Locust Canister, which can be found directly opposite the basement door. After, follow through the quest as normal to reach the Bio Armored Omega Thresher boss fight, which can be repeated at the north-west side of the Fades District.
The Bio Armored Omega Thresher has multiple phases, but follows the same pattern for each. On the north wall of the arena, players will find a Locust Canister station, which they can activate with their grapple hook to throw a canister at the Bio-Thresher Omega to lower its armor and shoot it. This boss has an Armor health bar (yellow), so use Corrosive and Cryo weapons for the most effective damage, but remember that the armor regrows between the split health bar. Next is a Flesh health bar (red), so use Incendiary after throwing Locust Canisters. This Flesh bar is split into three phases, and the Bio Armored Omega Thresher loves to sit underground, so patience will be a virtue here. However, once defeated, the Omega 86’d challenge will be complete.
How to Complete Bio Break in Borderlands 4
Bio-Bulkhead Location & How to Beat Him
The Bio-Bulkhead is located in the Synthetic Nave POI of the Dissected Plateau in the Fadefields. Players can find this boss in the far east of the Dissected Plateau, and we started at the Deep Seven Order Silo. Set your marker on the map to the Vending Machine in the Synthetic Nave, as ECHO-4 will not be able to find a path to the Bio-Bulkhead by itself. Once you enter the Synthetic Nave, continue heading straight, where you can find an elevator with a button on the left to take you upwards. Once the elevator has reached the top, head through the open door on the right to reach the Bio-Bulkhead boss room.
This boss fight requires players to pick up the Locust Canisters found on the right side of the room and throw it at the boss. The Bio-Bulkhead has one Armor health bar (yellow), meaning it’s weak against Corrosive and Cryo damage. The Bio-Bulkhead will re-engage its armor 4 times, so be sure to pick up a canister and prepare to spray it with death to complete the challenge.
How to Complete No Points Awarded in Borderlands 4
Sydney Pointylegs Location & How to Beat Him
No Points Awarded requires players to kill Sydney Pointylegs. Sydney Pointylegs is the boss found within The Prospects, a Ripper Drill Site located in the Hungering Plain of the Fadefields. To reach The Prospects, we headed east of The Launchpad in The Howl, across the lake on our vehicle. We then headed through the Ripper camp to reach the boss arena. Sydney Pointylegs will only spawn once players have killed enough Rippers, so get ready to get to mobbing and kill plenty of enemies here so Sydney spawns.
Sydney Pointylegs relies on melee damage, so he will chase you down and use spin attacks from the ground and the air. Sydney’s first health bar is a Shield, so use Shock damage. The second health bar is Flesh, so use Incendiary damage, and the final health bar is Armor, so use Corrosive and Cryo to dismantle this mechanical beast and claim victory for the No Points Awarded challenge.
How to Complete Ultimate Vault Hunter in Borderlands 4
Lilith's "Rush the Gate" Wildcard Mission Location
Once you have completed all 4 challenges listed above, it’s time to return to Moxxi’s Bottoms Up in the Ruined Sumplands of Carcadia Burn. To the left side of the main bar, you’ll find Lilith standing there, and you can interact with Lilith to accept the Rush the Gate mission. This is the exact same story mission where you fought Idolator Sol, except enemies will hit a tad harder as it’s in UVH1. There are also Wildcard effects to look out for, like Healthy, Vampiric, and Regenerative, but these simply mean that the enemies can heal, so be sure to focus on them individually rather than leaving them. After you’ve killed Idolator Sol in this mission, you’ll be sent back to Moxxi’s Bottoms Up and placed into Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 2, where you can begin your journey to Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 3.
