Most players would have already come across a multitude of Legendary pieces of gear in Borderlands 4, whether it’s a new favorite weapon, Shield, or even Class Mod. However, one of the more obscure Legendary items that players will want to collect is the Legendary Enhancement. Since Enhancements are designed to buff certain weapon types and gun manufacturers, it’s only natural that players would want a fully Legendary-tier loadout, and the Enhancement is the last piece of the puzzle. Legendary Enhancements in Borderlands 4 provide players with 2 perks instead of one, providing an immense power bonus, but where can one grab these divinities?

How to Get Legendary Enhancements in Borderlands 4

There are no dedicated loot drop sources for Legendary Enhancements, meaning that no specific boss will drop them. Legendary Enhancements only drop from world loot, meaning there’s a very small chance to actually get one from killing enemies and bosses. To increase your chances of getting a Legendary Enhancement, make sure you are playing on at least Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 1. UVHM1 allows you to farm Vile Bounties at Contract Boards in Faction Towns and Safehouses, and Legendary Enhancements have a good chance to drop as Vile Bounty rewards. Plus, the Loot Quality increase from Ultimate Vault Hunter might help.

Alternatively, try running a boss that you feel the safest fighting and will be the quickest to beat. As such, we recommend Splashzone from the Riptide Grotto, located in the Coastal Bonescape, Fadefields. However, if you have a particular boss you want to farm for their Legendary loot, then feel free to do so and hope you get an extra Legendary Enhancement drop from them. If you want more enemies in an effort to get the Legendary Enhancement quicker, try Ripper Drill Sites, like the Foundry Freaks at “The Pitted Stain” in Idolator’s Noose, Fadefields. That’s three bosses to increase chances, and they have a swarm of Rippers that can be killed for an extra random drop chance. The last method you could use would be any Primordial Guardian from the Vaults, as not only will these bosses drop a slew of loot, but they also provide 2-4 Red Chests, which could have a Legendary Enhancement.

What Do Legendary Enhancements Do in Borderlands 4?

Legendary Enhancements come with 2 unique special effects rather than one. While all Enhancements will come with a single perk, like Jakobs’ “Piercer – Guns with Jakobs-licensed parts have 20% Chance to grant a Critical Hit”, it could also roll with an additional perk like “Leaper – Guns with Jakobs-licensed parts gain a 40% Chance to Ricochet non-Critical Hits”. That’s one Enhancement with 2 gun-specific perks, and 2 non-specific perks, so you could also have an increase to Assault Rifle Reload Speed and Gun Damage! It seems that each weapon manufacturer has a Legendary Enhancement, so Vladof fans might want to find a Vladof-specific one, as will Jakobs fans, and the rest. Here’s what we’ve found so far:
